Basic instructions for croutons

Bread, that's getting stale is a good candidate
Olive oil or melted butter to coat
Salt
Black pepper
Garlic powder, optional
Cayenne powder, optional
Italian seasoning, optional
Other seasonings if desired

Heat oven to 375º F.
Cube bread to desired size, for salads I like smaller ones so you get more bites with a crouton.
Toss with oil and seasonings
Spread into 1 layer on a foil lined sheet pan
Bake until crisp all the way through, approximately 20 minutes.
