Garlic Bread
This recipe from America's Test Kitchen calls for simple grocery store “Italian loaf”, and is one of the few good uses for such an item. This is the loaf you often see used for the grocery store garlic bread.

1 loaf Italian bread, cut in 1/2 horizontally
1 tbsp juiced garlic (use a micro-plane)
8 tbsp unsalted butter (1/2 melted, 1/2 softened)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp water
1/8 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)

Preheat oven to 450° F
Add juiced garlic to melted butter and microwave for 1 minute stirring half way
Mix garlic powder and water to make a slurry
To that, add softened butter and melted garlic mixture as well as the cayenne & salt
Spread on bread halves
Bake for 3-4 minutes
Flip loaves over, and with another sheet pan on top, lightly press down on bread
Return to oven and bake about 8 minutes more (with sheet pan on top
